Infant Program

We know that there is nothing more important to you than the safety, care and well being of your child. In our Infant Program, children are our first and top priority!  Throughout the day we spend a great deal of time with gentle interactions, eye contact, rocking, cuddling, singing and playing to encourage your little one to feel secure. Routine activities, such as diapering and feeding, are opportunities for the staff to smile,  talk, hold and interact with your child. This all allows your child to learn and develop at their own pace!

We know that parent involvement is extremely important.  We ask parents to provide us with specific instructions on their child’s needs and preferences. This allows your child’s schedule to be based on their specific needs as per the instructions provided by the parent.  We send home a Daily Contact Sheet each day to inform you of your child’s day as well!

Toddler Program

Children attend the Toddler Program when they begin walking well. It is a structured program with a schedule that offers a variety of activities to encourage the further development of each child. The Toddler Room consists of several learning centers throughout the day.

Our manipulatives, quiet play, art, climbing cubes, and slides help develop you child's Large Motor Development as well as Fine Motor Development.

Outdoor play is on our specially made Toddler Playground with a poured rubber surface.

In addition, our Toddlers enjoy going on scenic walks in our 6 seat strollers around our facility and spacious grounds.

Transition from the Toddler Room to the Beginner Class is based on the individual child’s developmental readiness and the level of development of the children currently in the Early Learning Class.

Beginners Class

Children in this class participate in various activities to help encourage their learning. We focus on the development of large and fine motor skills, number and letter recognition, and calendar and weather education. There are endless opportunities to make friends, learn to share, and take turns.

Children do not need to be potty trained for this class and it is often a class in which potty training takes place as the teaching staff works in conjunction with the parents in the potty training process.

The Beginner Class is very similar to the 3-year-old Early Skills Class, but taught at the age-appropriate 2 1/2 year old level.

Early Skills Class

The Early Skills class is a preparation for the 4-year-old Pre-K Class. Children learn to take turns, transition from one project to another and speak before their peers.  Numbers, letters, shapes and sizes are taught from a developmental, hands-on perspective through arts and crafts, music and games.  These concepts are reinforced through our learning centers, toys, and various activities.

Field trips include apple & pumpkin picking. Parents are welcome to attend all field trips!

Children do not need to be potty trained to attend this class.

Pre-K Class

Children are prepared for Kindergarten during their time in our Pre-K Class.  Children learn letters, numbers, shapes, colors, sizes, sequencing and much more through a hands-on approach to learning.  Using children’s natural curiosity makes learning easy and fun.  Teachers use dramatic play, learning centers, arts and crafts, group games and music – as well as traditional paper, crayons and pencils to encourage the development of writing skills.

Summer Camp (CAMP AGAPE)

Each week offers a different exciting theme for the children. Children will take part in arts & crafts and activities related to the theme. Preschool and School Age campers participate in our indoor and outdoor games as well as water play in the warm weather.

Campers attend activities that come to us! Pool field trips are scheduled every other week for our School Aged Campers!

Before School Program

Children participate in a variety of activities including board games, group games, coloring, crafts, toys, Wii, jump rope and free play while waiting. Children may bring a healthy breakfast to eat here before leaving for school.  Breakfast may be eaten at any time until 8:00 a.m. (Please no chocolate or sweets.)

Children are transported to and from Agapé to various West Milford Schools by the West Milford Transportation Department.  Parents need to complete the transportation form provided by the transportation department or by Agapé, requesting that Agapé be their child’s pick up and/or drop off bus stop.

Agapé staff will always put children on the bus and take them from the bus upon bus drop off.

After School Program

Our large auditorium provides plenty of room for basketball games, scooters, Wii games, indoor group games, and crafts. As children arrive from various township schools, snack is provided by Agapé. Children are then able to do their homework with assistance provided by staff as needed from 3:00-4:00 PM.

You can request your children be dropped off at Agape by their bus after school. We will always have staff waiting upon their arrival.

Our state-of-the-art playground, grassy areas, and large lot provide plenty of exercise and fun with running, kickball, and playground climbing equipment and swings. Occasionally, in inclement weather, a movie and popcorn time is provided.

Parents are to provide snack, if they choose, for children who attend after 5:00 PM

Extended Care Program

Children have opportunities to play in the various interest centers, have daily story time and go outdoors on our state of the art playground.  In inclement weather there is plenty to do inside - games, puzzles, play dough, art, music and more!

For your convenience, parents have the flexibility to schedule extra hours as needed in this program!
